FFV 2009 Coaches Conference

The 5th annual FFV Coaches Conference took place last weekend at JIKA International Hotel and John Cain Memorial Park.

With 50 budding coaches in attendance, participants were given access to a range of elite and talented coaches through formal presentations and one-on-one discussions. Coaches were also treated to practical demonstrations from current National Training Centre (NTC) players.

Presentations came from current FFA Technical Director Han Berger, Assistant FFA Technical Director Alistair Edwards, Matildas Head Coach Tom Sermanni, FFA National Coach Education Manager Kelly Cross, NTC Head Coach Ian Greener, former Socceroos Team Doctor Andrew Jowett and current Socceroos Coaching Staff member Ron Smith.

The annual two day event aims to provide further education to Victorian coaches of all levels, with access to talented coaches who can provide the latest updates in Coach Education across Australia and Asia.

As well as the theory and practical components, coaches were given entry to the A-League fixture between Melbourne Victory and Gold Coast United, offering an opportunity to sit as a group and analyse a game together.
