Football Federation Australia has released information for the 2009-2010 National Futsal Team.
The following information is for the National Futsal Team for the period leading up to the Asian Championships in May 2010.
Coaching
FFA has appointed Steven Knight (NSW) as the Head Coach of the National Futsal Team up to and including the Asian Championships. Steve was the Assistant Coach of the team in 2008. He holds an FFA B License in Football, and Level 1 and Level 2 License in Futsal. He has coached teams in the former National League and the National Championships.
The Assistant Coach will be Robert Varela (NSW). Varela has a Level 2 Australian Futsal License and a Level 1 Spanish License. He has coach several teams at national level, as well as Australian Youth Teams, and has experience overseas as well.

The National Coach and Assistant Coach will visit Victoria to run a identification camp for invited players only.
January 11-15: National Futsal Championship in Canberra. A squad will be named following these
Championships
January 22-25: Training camp, Narrabeen, Sydney
January 26 - February 15: Training three times a week in State programs. Sunday training camps in Sydney.
February 16-27: Asian Championship Qualifiers, Jakarta, Indonesia.
March, April: Training in State Programs and camps to be advised.
May 19-31: Asian Championships
Selection
1. To be eligible for selection a player must be registered with his State Association with a Futsal
registration, or be playing professionally overseas.
2. Outdoor players will be considered for selection, but must comply with 1. above.
3. Strict fitness criteria will be set by the FFA Conditioning Coach and Sports Scientist (Darren Burgess).
Players will be regularly tested against these criteria.
4. A squad will be named after the National Championships. A team for the Asian Qualifiers (February) will be named in February. A further squad will be named after the Asian Qualifiers, and from this a team will be named for the Asian Championships (May) in May.
